IA

This year, 10th grade, I was granted the pleasure to participate in the Innovation Academy in school. I took a big leap, as did my classmates, going into a project based learning environment that we weren't used to. Us 15 were used to being taught in separate classes for each course. Moving into the IA meant a merger of 4 classes for us. In my case it was a struggle at the beginning but seeing the grand scope of the program gave me comfort and confidence that what I was doing was a step into my purposeful education.

Before the program had even started the Innovation Academy 2019 cohort  started to meet with Mr. Bonnici and Corey Topf the IA teachers. We had meeting to discuss a class project called the IA project. June, weeks away from school ending they assign winter learning. We had to read a book, take notes on the book and on a google doc and tweet about the book.

So right from the very beginning the IA did not seem like a slacker material type of class.

Picture taken with little learnt about photography

Pardon my wining face,

cameras are complicated.

When we started school we were given photography lessons, which went with the media course. I was stoked to learn about photography because I really like to take pictures of my travels but knew very little of the actual gist. In these lessons, we were taught the principles of photography; exposure, aperture, shutter speed, ISO etc. We learnt about the different techniques to the composition of the pictures, as well.
