Arriving for the first time in Africa, with my fellow schoolmates, was a bit surreal. Thinking that Africa was going to be a whole load of camels and desert, I found myself surrounded by people wearing robes, and hijabs, representing Arab ideals/ religions. Having people look at us with our bags in the streets, calling out "China", when my Korean friend Lily would go by. This was a bit groundbreaking for me; watching this new culture yielding new experiences for me.  However, witnessing the most important climate conference and being the youth voice of the conference was something I left out of this initial experience. The whole purpose of me traveling all the way to Marrakesh, Morocco, was to get a hold of the decisions being made on global warming. I was able to listen to conferences with experts on climate change, experts on how climate change affects population etc. This made me realize the amount of work we need to put into repurposing our clean energy resources, making them more available. I realized that women and children are the most affected by global warming effects. COP 22 was a truly enlightening experience on worldwide issues.
