Fugaz is an organization that focuses on healing lives through the arts. Fugaz started in a very criminally active district called Callao and focuses on a section called Callao Monumental. This section was renewed with art, a private investor added an artistic scene to the walls of the streets. Murals were implemented, exhibitions started to get held, and stores started to pop up. This reduced on a grand scale the rates of delinquency in the area, the presence of art made the district a much more compelling place to live. People had jobs and they didn't have to resort to thieving.

What we in the Fugaz club do is go to the district and provide English and Art workshops to the kids whose parents or families have been delinquents. We are trying to provide a better life for them, so they don't go through that path.

This is a picture of some of the members of the Fugaz crew. Here we are found in the midst of all the joy of our activities. When we are doing are activities we always gather in one of the corridors with the kids. This is known to be our place with them, and we get to interact with them at many levels.

Here I am with my friend Austin that really wanted to play my guitar. I took it so I could teach and play with them some music. I wanted to have some more art in their lives than just the visual art that they saw around them.

this is the corridor where we normally have our meeting with the kids. It's a beautiful alley with strings of all sorts of colors hanging. On the left you have some restaurants, and on the right you have some exhibition rooms. This alley is much out of the ordinary. To us it is our place to go every Saturday morning.

This is an interaction picture of me and my friend Ines teaching some guitar.
