Despair and anger are filled in an artist's body and mind. Art allows them to express those feelings. Prohibition of art runs through the city like a wild cheetah. When artists are deprived of their craft, more anger and helplessness arises. It is illogical to think that it is better to keep a wall dirty, than let a painter put a beautiful piece of art on it. It makes the place look less depressing, less like a landfill, more human.

Una ciudad de lienzos prohibidos

The law says that when an artist makes art, his work is protected by the government, even if it is not documented. In Lima, people seem to think that they can erase, modify or copy someone else's work, which is completely wrong. But the government does not about it. It is an author's right to claim property of their creation; their own thoughts and emotions are displayed. Hours and days are put into that piece and in a minute, someone, even from the government, can brush paint over it. An outrage.

El Color Desvanescido

What is an actor without a stage? A singer without a voice? Money is given to lawyers, economists and other practical professionals because of the believe they bring progress to society, as well as money. Art is proven to make society advance more and bring income as well, yet it’s ignored and painters are left without the premise of their craft: paint. Painters live off paint, just as investors live off their stocks. They bring the bread to the table, same as every other professions. If painters are left without paint, what is left for them to live for?

No solo de Pan Vive el Hombre

Artists are called impractical and are judged for pursuing their passion in public spaces. Where can they, though, if there are no places to express their art? They are thrown out of the way when they take out their guitars or paint on public walls. Their murals are overshadowed by greedy yellow paint. With no support from the government, artists who thrive to paint, because it’s what they live for, their passion, have no other option than to recur to options like making graffiti.
